Standard 12-inch beds work fine for lettuce and herbs. But if you’re growing tomatoes, peppers, beets, or anything with a taproot, depth matters. At 22 inches, this bed gives plants the room to anchor properly, retain moisture at the base, and produce the way they’re supposed to. The open bottom means roots can push even deeper into the ground below if conditions allow.

The corrugated panels aren’t just for looks — the wave profile adds structural rigidity that keeps the walls from bowing under soil pressure.
